JOIN ME TO PRAISE THE LORD
Greetings in the name of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ.
I want you to join me in praising the Lord for answering part of our prayer need. A Christian brother in Massachusetts has written to assure me that he will supply the kitchen equipment and the tables and chairs for our project THE EUANGELION CENTRE (SPOT). The Lord has started answering indeed.
I am praying for you always. I pray that you will experience countless blessings from the Lord this year (2009). I have never ceased to pray to the Lord for you. You have been faithful and have laboured to help me, both in prayers and financial support. May the Spirit of the Lord guide you in everything you do. May peace and joy from the Lord Jesus be with you always.
I am now in San Antonio, Texas. The weather is warm, just like Ghana. I feel comfortable. I learned that sometimes the weather can be as high as 100+. I hope it does not reach that before I leave for Virginia on 9th March. I shall return to Ghana on 28th March.
The success our ministry depends on constant flow of resources, which has been the biggest problem facing our ministry. A sad fact I have observed is that most people are not involved in Evangelism to Muslims. They either fear to be part or they consider it too difficult. Most Christians and their churches concentrate on missions to orphanages, ministry to the poor, digging of wells, provision of medical supplies, and other charitable programmes, like street children, etc..AND THIS IS GOOD BECAUSE THE LORD EXPECTS US TO DO THAT. However, only a very few, like you, get seriously involved in ministry to Muslims. Some even express surprise when they hear my ministry is fully involved in evangelism to Muslims. However, Jesus advises us that while we are helping the poor, etc., we should also not neglect the other side….in our case, this will be witnessing to those who are formidable threats to Christianity — and in this modern times, Islam. We should help the poor who cannot do anything to lift themselves up, but we must also remember that Islam is striving to make the entire world Islamic… it is aggressively spreading its wings. It is catching up with Christianity and is the fastest growing religion in Europe. It is already spreading fast into the US. While Christian and Secular birth rates have stagnated in Europe, Muslim immigrants into Europe have high birth rates…. they have high birth rates also in Asia and the Middle East. Islam growth rate is 1.84%, while Christianity is 1.38%.
When 9/11 occurred, many Christians and churches wanted to hear me speak. Much interest was shown, but very little help was given. A year later everything went back to the same way. This is sad.
THE EUANGELION SPOT
When Muslims are converted and become ostracized and homeless, we find it difficult to help provide basic needs for them. It is only by the grace of God that most of these Muslim converts remain Christians. To get the needed funding we must start generating income. This is one of the reasons we want to put up The Euangelion Centre (The Good News Spot), which will have among other facilities, an eatery. Income generated from the eatery will sustain our programmes, including the radio programmes that have brought many Muslims to Christ. A hostel (or motel) will provide temporary accommodation for them when they are thrown out of their homes (because of their new faith in Christ), while we assist them to find jobs or learn skills to take care of themselves later. While they are temporarily housed at the hostel, they will have food at the eatery and also undergo the training offered at the centre to equip them for evangelize other Muslims for Christ.
The eatery at the Euangelion Centre will be specially designed to provide optimal visibility for all to see the various Christian programmes (teaching, preaching, etc.) as they eat. Special Christian Edutainment (Gospel programmes) will be presented and the food there will be cheaper, and yet better, than what other restaurants are providing; this will draw many people to the centre. The Centre will have auditorium for various programmes, including worship, and classrooms where teaching and training of Muslim converts for full-scale evangelism will be vigorously pursued. Those who cannot read and write will have the opportunity to take literacy classes; the major text book will be the Bible.
PRINTING PRESS AND LITERATURE DISTRIBUTION AND MICRO FINANCING:
The Publication and Literature Division will print out study materials and other evangelism materials. The press will also do short run jobs and other printing jobs for churches, business houses and Government institutions and schools for fees. Income generated will be used to micro finance poor peasant farmers and small scale artisans who cannot source loans from the banks.
YOUTH AND COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT:
The Youth will also be encouraged to engage in sports and other activities, like drama and community development programmes that will keep them away from drugs and other vices.
ISLAMIC JIHAD AND THREAT:
What is happening in the Middle East is the result of what the church failed to do when there was a need. When Muslims embarked on the Jihad in the seventh century, conquering Persia, Syria, Jerusalem, Egypt, etc., the Church looked on while Islam kept spreading. By the time the Church acted, it was too late. Everywhere the Muslims conquered, they made sure Christianity was suppressed, and churches were taken over. I have covered that in my book, “Islam, Jihad and the Crusades.” Today the Middle East problem and terrorist threats by Islamic fundamentalists in many parts of the world have become a nightmare to the whole world. The Muslims have become barbs in our eyes and thorns in our sides (Numbers 33:55). Today we have the freedom to worship…. It could change tomorrow if we do nothing today…like it did in other countries.
When 9/11 occurred, the church awoke and for a whole year, I felt revival had come upon us. A year later, everything went back to normal. We do not have to wait for another 9/11 before we do anything. Please, help us to raise and train thousands of converts from Islam to Christianity as evangelists to the Muslim world.
The entire cost for the centre is $120,000, but we are looking for a seed-money to kick-start. Anything between $50,000 and $70,000 will be a tremendous help. You may give whatever the Lord leads you to give. Your church might also consider a one-time special love offering for this noble cause.
