  • pentecostWe meet in a hotel in West Springfield, Mass. On Sunday, during the worship music, a woman came into the room and said her daughter’s child (5 weeks old) had died suddenly early that same morning. She asked if she could bring her daughter into the service and would we then pray for her.  Truly a tragedy of epic proportion had befallen this young woman. It was incredible how God poured out His Spirit on that place. Simply amazing. Simply amazing. I have never seen anything quite like that.

  • a-little-more-snowGreat service on Sunday! One of those times where God really was doing the ministry.
  • Lot of hope and optimism is our home, life, and ministry.
  • Mid week Bible study starts on Thursday. We are geeked.
  • Going to have to put in extra preparation for the more topical teachings starting on Sunday.
  • Lots of sloppy wet snow on the ground.

  • We continued our study in Acts, covering 7:54-8:13.
  • Starting Thursday, January 21st, we will begin a mid week study here in Enfield, CT. Pretty excited about that. Details to follow later this week.
  • The study in Proverbs will continue this week. We certainly will cover chapter 21 and possibly 22 as well.
  • Will have some audio from Acts up on the blogs later this week.
  • Today is my birthday. Another one bites the dust.

  • 2010Snowy, wintry day. Yet full of the love of God from His people given to Him in worship and to one another in fellowship.
  • We temporarily moved the church to Calvary Chapel of Western Massachusetts in Belchertown ( about 15 miles northeast of Springfield).
  • The pastor of the church, Don McGrath and his wife Lynn had gone to Nevada to lead a memorial service.
  • We combined the churches for one service and it was a blessed time.
  • Sure was cold. Maybe 17-18 degrees. But it was full of the warmth of the Holy Spirit.
  • What a great way to start the church year!
  • Amen!!

Monday Reflections 12.28.09

  • 20Finally, we are back. All the trips are over. Time to wrap 2009 and get 2010 going.
  • The time in the Saratoga Springs, NY area was a real refreshing from the Lord. Truly a blessed time of fellowship.
  • This week there will probably be some posts about the year that is passing as well as the year that is beginning.
  • Really glad 2009 is almost over. It was a tough year. Lot of difficult lessons. Too many painful situations. Way too many.
  • There are reports (including Greg Laurie’s blog) that indicate that pastor Chuck had a “minor” stroke on Saturday evening. His doctor says he should make a full recovery. Please pray for him.

  • whiteonblueServices were canceled on Sunday due to the snow storm. It is always different when there are no services.
  • The trip to Texas went well.
  • We have been flying Delta through Atlanta and it always has worked out well for us.
  • The time in Texas was good. Saw a lot of relatives as well as friends of my dad. Spent quite a bit of time with my brother.
  • The drive back to Connecticut was profound. God really spoke to my heart. It will take some time to sort through everything He said and then implement it. What the Lord said effects my personal life, the church, and on into the future. I am very grateful for the comfort He has provided for us. Could not get sufficient cell coverage going through western Virginia to listen in on this month’s coaching call. The replay was excellent!
  • Completely spaced out Christmas. With all that has gone on since 12.05, the whole concept just seemed to sweep by over my head. Now we are right on top of it. I am not certain that I am ready for any type of holiday festivities this year.
  • Thursday 12.24, we will drive up to Saratoga Springs, NY. We will help our friends at Adirondack Christian Fellowship with their Christmas Eve service. He asked my to speak this year. We will spend Christmas Day with Rick and Gayle Cohen as well. On Saturday 12.26, we will drive home. This has been an very enjoyable tradition for a few years. I think we need it this year. And we have made many friends at ACF. It will be an excellent.

  • tulippurpleGod showed up Sunday. What more can be said.
  • Our study was from Acts 6:1-15.
  • Statistically speaking, the Thursday after Thanksgiving Day is the least attended Sunday in America. We had a very full house.
  • Cheryl and I have been listening to a video teaching series by John Bevere entitled “Under Cover.” It is an extremely good topical and systematic teaching on submission. I have been ‘blown away’ by the teaching. This is something I need to learn; submission. The idea that it is just Jesus and me is purely un-biblical.
